MICRO-MACRO: Microscopic Eye

In the series “Microscopic Eye” the camera discovers a variety of abstract visual compositions whose formal properties  belie their otherwise mundane, cacophonous, or unsightly  New York City Street locations which most passersby simply pass by.  Ranging in original size from a few inches to dozens of feet, here the images have been re-scaled to adhere closely to a uniform size. Various degrees of  color modification have been employed as well. The series reveals just how these abstract images themselves lie “hidden in plain sight.”

Each abstract image is followed by a shot of its street location which affords the inquisitive viewer a few seconds to pinpoint the image before guidelines reveal it.
